About Xupiter Toolbar

Xupiter Toolbar is spyware that hijacks browser home page and searches. It is implemented as a browser plug-in toolbar. The spyware is usually distriuted via popup ad or Active X control in Internet Explorer. It may display pop-up and pop-under ads when browsing. The program adds links to your favorites, and changes your home page. It will also track your browsing habits and report back to its controlling server.

How remove Xupiter Toolbar - Xupiter Toolbar Removal Instructions

Follow these instructions to manually remove it from your computer:

1. Open Dos command prompt window (from Start > Programs > Accessory ).
2. Enter the following three commands:
   regsvr32 /u "c:\Program Files\Xupiter\Updates\XupiterToolbar.dll"
   regsvr32 /u "c:\Program Files\Xupiter\Updates\XTUpdate.dll"
   regsvr32 /u "c:\Program Files\Xupiter\Updates\XTSearch.dll"
3. Open the Registry Editor (Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' ).
4. Navigate to the following key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
5. In the right pane, delete the entry with the name Xupiter.
6. Reboot your computer
7. Delete the Xupiter directory from C:\Program Files
8. Reset your home page.
   Start Internet Explorer, then click "Tools > Internet Options" while in Internet Explorer
   Click the "Programs" tab and click the "Reset web settings" button, then click the "OK" button to exit and save.
